The story behind Matinloc shrine "The Truth Revealed"

A sacred monument built in 1982 to honor the blessed virgin Mary. Matinloc is a local term for beautiful boast of the two spectacular snorkeling areas kalmung point and kulasa beach. According to our guide the story behind the shrine a name Guadalupe Yabes a religious visionary had a vision of blessed virgin who instructed her to search for a heart shape island and to build a shrine and in an aerial view you can see a heart shape island and that's it, that's the start of building the shrine, it all started in a vision umm quite interesting huh..Matinloc shrine was part of the tour C package, according to Mr.tour guide matinloc shrine holds catholic festival (feast day)of our lady of matinloc shrine every month of May for nearby island and locals joined to celebrate the feast. But for some reason and issue to a local government the festival celebration stop we asked our guide why and he answered there are some legality issue about building the shrine without permit from the local government thats why the shrine somewhat run down and abandoned (sayang naman). when we were here we never had the chance to see the inner part of the house because our guide told us that there's a lot of mosquitoes inside and broken glass scattered (nanakot pa si kuya).OK OK we end up taking pictures nalang.

Enchanting....HIDDEN BEACH IN EL NIDO PALAWAN

You'll be taken by surprise that just by entering that small cave you'll end up seeing one beautiful beach.  El nido can be describe in three words mysterious ,enchanting and amazing :)You had to literally fight the waves and the tide to go in a small inlet to get to the beach. According to our guide among all the island tour package, tour C is the most challenging and most truly a world famous location :) some of my friends were not that a good swimmer and some can't really swim but with the skills of our tour guide and his convincing powers we were all encouraged to go through that small passage to be able to see what's behind  those rocks, indeed a hidden beach whom only way is to swim :)

the hardest part..we need to be more extra careful and act fast big waves might come anytime see camille face afraid and worried :P

no one of us smiling and nobodies cared if there's camera ready to catch those facial reaction ha ha

we were all jumping YES WE MADE IT!!

we literally look back and smiled :) we conquered waves and faced our fears...success indeed!!!

then our guide told us to walked farther...without telling what come next...

upon seeing this...we were all says WOW!!!hidden paradise on earth..a bit sad did not get the chance to take pictures of the falling golden leaves from that tree cause we were all mesmerized ,as if you were just in the kingdom of fairies...

thankful that i brought my underwater camera with us..useless to bring your SLR and digital camera to this trip

pose more..

charlie's angels inspired :P

we were just too happy...:P

laugh until your belly hurts and then just a bit more! :P

one crazy pose before we bid bye bye to this beautiful hidden beach

Treasures from the past...Palawan Special Battalion WW2 Memorial Museum

Oct 21,2013
While waiting for a friend and her sister to arrive we decided a quick visit to a near by museum which was owned by RET. vice admiral MENDOZA.The museum has a number of original war memorabilia. Pored over the items in each room. Heartwarming to know about the heroism of the residents during World War II.It’s just a 10-minute drive from the airport. Inside the property is a sort of warehouse which features museum pieces with historical value dating back to World War II in the Philippines. Near the entrance, you will find an old willy’s jeep mounted with a machine gun

You can have pictures taken complete with uniform.

in front of the museum

for a small museum it is very informative for a price of P30

The young lady who is the curator escorted us around was very knowledgeable and informative

ask her anything she'll give you an answer :)

henri trying to look something :)

an old telescope used during world war II

some of the helmet used during the war

an old soft drinks bottle way back then

It is known as kalis in the southern Philippines. The kris is famous for its distinctive wavy blade, although many have straight blades as well.

big compass or should i say giant compass :P

do i need to say more THEY WERE EXPENDABLE

while touring the museum i asked the lady how is the owner related to the actor way back 90's heartthrob Matthew mendoza we found out that he was the grandson of ret.vice admiral mendoza :)and while we were chatting with the lady about Matthew we heard a familiar voice outside, guess who???...
it was him Matthew mendoza ha ha lucky us...isa lang masasabi namin gwapo pa din sya...:)

My BOHOL adventures (this more on a journal trip )

im a newbie when it comes to blogging it took me sometimes to share my experiences when it comes to travel and exploring places i always want to start but i end up okey next time il do it and then days and days had past i dont have any title and ideas what gonna tell haha and today is the day so here i am sharing my experiences for my recent trip in Bohol. If you really want a nice and easy travel you have to plan your trip ahead of time.last october 30th 2012 when cebu pacific had piso fare i had the opportunity to have the manila-tagbilaran-manila 50%off promo that was month of october, imagine that was month of october!:) but my ticket is for my 2013 april birthday, five  long months to wait but its okey my trip in bohol was really worth waiting for.:)...while waiting for my trip i keep on searching where to stay in Bohol who will be my guide during my trip? what will be my activities during my trip? etc..hey this is my first time to travel alone and first time to celebrate my birthday alone :)so i want it to be a memorable one..:)may not be perfect, well at least almost perfect..month of november when i booked my accomodation to BOHOL BEE FARM reason why this place?..they have a very nice review according to travellers, tourist who visited their place.http://www.boholbeefarm.com my next step is to search for my tour guide their are lots..problem is they dont entertain if you only travelling alone (disappointing)never the less i found a review about DEXLIEZEL LIRAZAN guide tour i emailed them and receive prompt reply i ask them if i can request my own choice of tour and i receive a big word YES! my itinerary almost done:)

here's my personal tips guys :)

step 1.plan your tour and book your flight, check airlines if they have promo offer if there is, book flight around midnight so you can book hussle free :)

step 2.search and read review about your destination place.

General description:BOHOL
One of the most beautiful island provinces in the Visayan, oval-shaped Bohol is renowned for its cultural heritage as well as natural wonders: undulating verdant hills, waterfalls, fresh water springs, serene rivers, storied caves, mangrove orchards, picturesque off-shore islands and islets, pristine white-sand beaches, and clear blue waters teeming with rich marine life

step 3.look for accomodation, search and read traveller's review "is a must"
BOHOL BEE FARM (highly recommended)

The Bohol Bee Farm is a very cozy and relaxing place in Panglao island. Owner and Chef Vicky Wallace prepares delicious meals from organically-grown vegetables on her farm--from squash muffins, vegetable lasagna to her specially-brewed coffee from roasted corn and wild berries. She rents her chalet-styled home to guests who want to enjoy the peace and serenity of having the entire farm to themselves...(repost from there site)

step 4.look for a tour guide specially if you were travelling alone again read a traveller's reviews"is a must"

Tarsier

The Tarsier is a small type of primate that not many people are familiar with. It spends most of its time in the trees and they have long tails. They are nocturnal so they are mainly out at night, making it hard to see them. In some cultures the Tarsier is considered to be a good luck charm and highly regarded. They only weigh about 5 ounces when they are fully mature.
the shiphaus

The ShipHaus is one of Bohol's new tourist attractions, which is located in Poblacion Norte, Batuan. It is uniquely shaped like a shipping vessel; thus, the name ShipHaus. It is a house owned by Capt Gaudencio Dumapias, a native of Batuan who became a successful mariner.
chocolate hills
The Chocolate Hills are probably Bohol's most famous tourist attraction. They look like giant mole hills.
love this shot  by my guide  during my tour at the butterfly farm i enjoyed this place not because of the butterflies but because the tourguide inside this farm he made me laugh he was great in scientific name and his great in making his visitors laugh :)funny talaga!

i took this shot (pwede na)

manmade forest

according to kuya joel (my guide)The Bohol Forest is a man-made mahogany forest stretching in a two-kilometer stretch of densely planted Mahogany trees located in the border of Loboc and Bilar towns. Before and after this man-made forest are the naturally grown forests of Loboc and Bilar which are thick with a kaleidoscope of green foliage, different species of trees and giant ferns lining the road.

hanging bridge

The famous bamboo hanging bridge can be found crossing the Sipatan River in Sevilla, Bohol. This hanging bridge has become a tourist attraction in Bohol because crossing it is quite different from crossing a concrete or wooden bridge. While crossing the bridge, you can feel that the bridge that is swaying and bouncing a little bit on every step, especially if there are several people crossing the bridge at the same time. For some people, letting go of the railing is quite scary, which can give problems when you have to pass somebody crossing in the other direction, luckily there are two bridges.

The monument, with the bronze statues of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, Rajah Sikatuna and several other witnesses, was a masterpiece of the Boholano sculptor and National Artist for Sculpture, Napoleon Abueva.
after a long day tour finally kuya joel drop me at bohol bee farm it was past 5 in the afternoon tiring yes but worth my time :)he carried my baggage at the front desk, front desk lady assisted me at my room good thing about bohol bee farm they upgraded my room accomodation to a bigger one without any charge (consider early birthday gift).

Day 2:SEA TOUR

Itineraries:
- dolphin watching

- snorkeling at balicasag island- island hopping at virgin island
call time 6am i woke up early no breakfast at all reason why too early, Every morning during sunrise dozens of dolphins gather around for breakfast:)

i requested kuyang bangkero( mr.boatman)if we can go to balicasag island that early so i can swim and snorkeling:)

As soon as my feet kissed the pristine sand of Balicasag, i  arranged for the dishes to be served for lunch. So that by the time i was done with snorkeling my lunch was ready. I can say that my snorkeling experience topped my overall activities in Bohol.

after my lunch again i requested kuyang bangkero(mr.boatman) to bring me to virgin island which is one of my top reason why i chose Bohol to celebrate my birthday goin to virgin island is one of my wish(granted).

i think the hardest part in travelling alone was to take picture on your own haha hirap but i have my tripod with me big help :)

advantage of travelling alone:

  • FREEDOM most people who travel alone generally cite freedom as the great motivating factor.go where,do whatever and when anywhere.free to change plans
    • DISCOVERIES there is a real sense of discovery involve in travelling alone that includes self discovery.
  • MEETING PEOPLE travelling alone does not mean that you will always be alone.it allows you to meet more people.other people fine an individual traveller more approachable than those who travel by group.
disadvantage:
TAKING PICTURES there are times when i would like to have had more taken of myself in certain places, but there again there are always people willing to snap one or two for you.
